Jordan should probably comment himself but I had the impression he was not hired to work on FreeBSD specifically. It's hardly Jordan's fault that WC gave him a job. Is he now meant to stop pushing FreeBSD because of a conflict of interest? Get real. Ok, I'll push the WC cdrom's as a core team member. Why ? Because we do the master so we know where everything is and how everything works. In fact, the core group won't usually answer questions relating to other cdroms because in most cases we've never seen them and wouldn't be able to identify the problems. We'd also like to have WC's sales going well because we do have a good relationship with them and the more FreeBSD cdroms they sell the keener they are to support us. Now, to qualify all that, there's no official arrangement between WC and the FreeBSD core group. WC has no say whatsoever in what the FreeBSD group does. They're just satisfied customers and any one else is perfectly free to distribute FreeBSD in any way they choose that conforms with the copyright. Just don't expect the core team to be experts on all releases you may come across. -- Paul Richards, FreeBSD core team member. Phone: +44 1222 874000 x6646 (work), +44 1222 457651 (home) Dept.
