I'm running the install as root, under tcsh; using sh doesn't seem to help. Most affected seem to be manpages, include files and libraries, but some packages lose everything. Unpacking the archives manually works fine, but isn't the best way of doing things, for obvious reasons. Another minor gripe; out of the 2.0 CD install, /tmp is not world-writable.
