System;
Amptron 486DX/50 eisa/vlb with HINT chipset
16 Megs of Ram
Adaptec 2742 controller
Nec CD-rom
PAS16 soundcard
Zoltrix 14.4 internal modem
Cirrus Logic 5428 2meg (vlb) video
Ollivetti 234 meg scsi1 primary hd
Quantum 245 meg scsi2 secondary hd

I have dos and OS/2 warp installed on the prim hd and Linux on the sec hd.
I am booting with the OS/2 boot manager and everything works fine except for a small problem with OS/2, turbo has to be turned of until the process gets past reading the hd's.
This is a problem associated with the "Hint" chipset. This chipset does not support level IRQ triggering on the scsi bus so the Adaptec 2742 has to be configured for edge trigger-
ing. Soooooooo............
I am trying to Install FreeBSD 2.0 (Walnut Creek CD-rom Jan. 1994)
The boot process recognizes everthing correctly, I think. BSD sees my video, floppies,hd controller, hdrives, cdrom. The problem happens near the end, at the line that says; switching
root to fd0c. The cursor moves to the next line and nothing happens.
I've tried changing bios locations for the 2742 and even turning scsi bios of.
The only way I get past this stage is by removing the cable to my hdrives. So I think my boot floppy is good but of course I can't install with no hd.

Thank you
