I want to connect a (smart) terminal to my FreeBSD system. I tried different terminals and different cables, but the terminal gets the login: prompt and hangs. I.e. I can type what I want but won't get any echo. Following are the facts. Any help is appreciated! Walter. - I have two COM ports, COM1 is detected as being a 16450, COM2 as a 16550A (???) Hacking the kernel to force it to be a 16450 too has no effect. - I run FreeBSD 1.1.5 - cable has everything connected - terminal has been setup with w/ and w/o flow controls, different speeds - I tried changing some tty settings like clocal, echo, ctyscts, no use From /etc/ttys: tty01 "/usr/libexec/getty std.9600" vt102 on secure (I tried adding "local", no use) From ps -aux: root 97 0.0 0.0 152 0 ??
