Don't know if these are the right groups for this sort of thing, but : I'm sure someone will flame-point me to the right place anyway! : If I am at the right place, would somebody please help us. I am trying : to set up the pine mailer for our new BSD system. So far I can : successfully send out mail from the system, but, unfortunately pine : cannot read the incoming mail. Looks to me like something needs to : be done configuring sendmail (I haven't done anything yet on this : system with sendmail, but have done similar stuff on an SCO box). If you can send out mail (spooled/queued by sendmail ?!) why shouldn't sendmail be able to receive and store mail properly ?! If sendmail has problems delivering mail, then it certainly complains about it _loudly_ in a system logfile ... so inpect them ! The syslog feature (see paths in /etc/syslog.conf) should point you to interesting files ... What's your mail directory ? /usr/spool/mail, /var/mail, ... Look if the mails are there ... Try your systems native mail commands for reference ... BTW: there are pine ports for FreeBSD out ... if I remember right. I had no problems to compile and install under SunOS 4.1.3_U1. This for pine Version 3.89. What version are you using (I suggest, you give us more details about your system and mailer configuration ....)... Perhaps pine needs to be re-configured for special paths ... And ... _what_ BSD are you running ?????
