I am having a difficult learning curve and I hope someone can point me
int the right direction. I have FreeBSD installed and running on my
Toshiba T4800CT and am trying to setup and configuration pppd on my
system. The problem I think I am having is I am unable to talk to my
PCMCIA Megahetz modem. Maybe I can nt figure out which /dev to use or
maybe I have something configuraed wrong. Another thing that seems
strange is there is no /etc/inittab file. Now I do not have a clue what
that does anyways but if it is important how do I create it. The other
thing is when I try to run pppd is says "Sorry PPP now available".... I
assume this is because I haven't completed the /usr/share/FAQ/PPP.doc
stuff yet (mainly because I can not talk to the modem).

Once I get thisworking I plan to reconfigure my desktop (dos/os2/freebsd)
but I don't wnat to do this until I get ppp working on the notebook. I
do not want to trash my configration for os/2 internet connection (ppp).

Thanks for any help...
