I see "power" linux users as completely different from those amiga users. When I use sunos at work, I feel like I can do a lot of things. At least with the provided tools, and I can compile up lots of other tools. When I use linux at home, I feel like I can do *anything* with the computer that I need to. And I get a completely different feeling when I boot up dos to run indycar. Exact same machine, but I don't feel like I can do very much with it at all. If I "fail to see anything else in the world," it is because of exactly this sense of empowerment. It may not do everything I want right now, but I feel like I can *make* it do anything. I *don't* feel this way with any other operating system. -- Andy Tefft - new, expanded .sig - teffta@erie.ge.com
