I am looking at getting myself PC unix to run/develop some database
and statistical applications, so am searching for the 'right' OS. I
have spent some time browsing the solaris 2.4 x86 info/discussions but
feel a tard disappointed that not much 3rd party software is supported
for the kinda money it costs.

A brief run-down on these OS with software compatibility list and/or
financial implications. To give an idea of the software I'm likely
to use :
	i.	quantime products
	ii.	SAS
	iii.	SPSS (motif)
	iv.	RDBMS/SQLs
Or an indication as to where I can get some of the information will
do.

Thank you in anticipation.

zam.
