I've been doing system admin and network programming for quite a lot, and the WORSE experience in my life this far has been setting up TCP/IP to work on an NT box. True, that was the first release, but... it was really awful to have to go thru all those damn' dialogs and other shit to set up a MINIMUM of a network... Compare this to the Linux installation from, say, Slackware... less than 30 seconds and you're up and running. And if you want to change something, you can fire up vi and do the editing in less than 10 sec, and without ever touching that fu**ing rodent!!! Not that I totally hate GUI, tho - and in fact even OS/2 Warp was really easy to setup. So, I can only assume NT is brain dead in (at least) this regard. And note I was on the beta test... so I had plenty of time to figure how the sucker worked... Well... enough for this evening... ;-) P.S.: did I mention how stupid is that Ctrl-Alt-Del thing? -- My geek code: GCS d?@ H+ s+: !g p? !au a- w(+) v C++ UL++++ UA++++$ P+++>++++ L++ N+++ E--- K- W--- M- !V po--- Y++ t !5 !j R+@ G--(----) tv b+@ D++ !B e+ u** h!>--- f+ r++ n+(-) y+
