It is a port of BSD 4.4-Lite to the x86 platform, so its similar to that. SunOS, Ultrix, and other commercial offerings are also based on BSD architectures (although usually 4.3 or 4.2) so they are all fairly similar platforms from the admin and programming point of view. alex
