This is FreeBSD v1.0 ( CD-ROM) and XFree86 v2.0 When i close twm, xinit doesnt quit ( twm is the last program started in .xinitrc ) - this leaves the console with the usual X startup messages but in a non communicating state - whatever you type is echoed to the screen - but thats all. ps... shows xinit is still running, it is necessary to kill the original login shell to restore the console to normal operation. Hardware: 386DX40 AMI bios 8 Mb ram ET4000 SVGA, 1Mb, tseng labs int'l vga bios IDE hd AHA1542C/F SCSI ( for CD-ROM drive ) i can run X11 for Coherent v4 and SCO's ODT on exectly the same hardware without problems. -- graham dresch graham@addhat.demon.co.uk Development eng.
