Could some one give me : a pointer as to why and how to fix/work around? I have the same controller (DC4030VL-1) and it works fine. In fact, I was able to get FreeBSD to work with drives with more than 1024 cylinders as I have to 1G drives. The only reason I could think of why FreeBSD can't see your controller is if you have it setup as a secondary controller. Take it easy.....
