[...] Don't you just hate it when you post a problem and then come up with the solution? Anyway, it turns out that the source distribution I had acquired came with a dodgy libkern.a. Removing this (rm ../../libkern/libkern.a) and allowing the Makefile to rebuild it worked like a charm. Now to work on SB16 support...
