Hi

One of the functions of the script /etc/daily (run by
cron at 2am) is the checking of the filesystem. It is
in this filesystem checking that I regularly get
warnings. The output looks like :

Checking filesystems:
** /dev/rwd0a (NO WRITE)
** Last Mounted on /
** Root file system
UNREF FILE I=59 OWNER=root MODE=100644
SIZE=5753 MTIME=Jan 27 02:00 1995
RECONNECT? no

CLEAR? no

FREE BLK COUNT(S) WRONG IN SUPERBLK
SALVAGE? no

582 files, 10934 used, 3805 free (173 frags, 454 blocks,
1.2% fragmentation)
** /dev/rwd0e (NO WRITE)
** Last Mounted on /usr
8724 files, 117514 used, 61343 free (2951 frags, 7299
blocks, 1.6% fragmentation)

I have received this warning 37 times since November 1994.
RECONNECT, CLEAR and SALVAGE is always "no", yet running
fsck gives no warnings/errors.

Should I be worried ? Is it just a matter of time before
the filesystem dies permanently ? Are these errors /
warnings common in FreeBSD 1.1.5.1 ?

Thanks
Leon
