I am running FreeBSD 2.0 with a Toshiba 4x CD-ROM, and I have a
problem where the kernel will decide to give read errors accessing
the contents of any file past some particular inode number. It
is associated with the particular boot session. Removing
the CD-ROM and re-inserting it (mount/unmount cycles the same)
gives the same inode number. When I reboot, the number changes
somewhat randomly. Sometimes I can access the whole disk, and
other times, only a quarter of it. DOS and MS-Windows NT 3.5
always work fine with the CD-drive, at least I have noticed
no problems, but I'll keep looking.
