Also a CD Companion on 4.4BSD-Lite. For beginning administration, the UNIX SYSTEM Administration Handbook by Nemeth, Snyder and Seebass ISBN 0-13-933441-6 Prentice Hall is quite good, is based largely on BSD, and includes many practical examples.
