Keywords: CAD solid modeler X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Hi all, A couple of people have expressed interest, so here's the deal: BRL-CAD is distributed as licensed but free software. The procedure is to ftp a copy of the license agreement from ftp.arl.mil (128.63.16.158)/brl-cad/agreement.txt, fill it out and send it to the Ballistics Research Labs. After a long delay they will send back a key than can be used to decrypt the distribution tarfiles. Eventually manuals are said to be forthcoming as well. Australian users can use godzilla.cgl.rmit.oz.au (131.170.14.2) I've not yet got through the configuration phase so I know very little at this stage. What few comments I've received about BRL-CAD have been highly favorable. It's evidently been ported to Linux but FreeBSD/NetBSD isn't mentioned in the docs. There is a newsgroup, info.brl-cad, which is rather lightly used. bob
