X-Newsreader: TIN Ýversion 1.2 PL2¨ Date: Sun, 12 Feb 1995 21:49:48 GMT Lines: 19 I have installed FreeBSD 2.0 for testing about two weeks ago, and came accross something very wrong during installation (but it could be me... :) I was installing from dos floppies, having 6 240kb chuncks per floppy. However, both the checksum-check and extraction scripts were expecting all chuncks to be on accesible at once (i.e. like when they are on a big enough fixed disk partition). I couldn't believe the installation was so broken, as up to that point it was pretty nice. after a second try, I gave up, dropped to shell and did the thing myself (having a loop that cats everything to gunzip, and holds at the end of each floppy). Are things really that bad, did I miss anything, is there a floppy-specific distribution... what? -- yossi (yogo@math.tau.ac.il)
