Lines: 21 Distribution: world Message-ID: <3htmvr$oo@brtph500.bnr.ca> NNTP-Posting-Host: brtps10e.bnr.ca Keywords: 3C509, EISA I have a 3C509 Ethernet (device 'ep0') in slot six of my EISA box (thus I/O address 0x6000). I have assigned IRQ 10 to the device, and it runs fine under DOS. When I run '/kernel -c' and configure it and subsequently boot, the card is found at 0x6000, but FreeBSD 2.0 says it's in test mode and fails to initialize it. Are there any configuration flags that I need to set for the card?? It has no boot PROM, and I am using an external MAU. A separate question relates to the setup and install scripts. I installed FreeBSD 2.0 'bin', 'info', and 'manpages', sections, but if I go back and try to install other packages (XFree86, for example), the /stand/scripts don't do anything. This is likely a shell-related issue, but does anyone have a simple answer for this?? Thanks in advance... -- =============================================================================== Paul Jezioranski | STANDARD DISCLAIMER -- My opinions psycho@bnr.ca | are shared by my employer only when Bell-Northern Research, Inc.
