Or have a look at the Nederlands. The point wiz is making is that Detroit measures homocides and woundings in shootings PER DAY, not per year, and robberies per hour. The city's real center in most cities over a population of 1.5 million is quite different from that of Europe. An automobile is armor and speed in addition to convenience, making someone else a better victim than the driver.
