I'm settting up a LAN in the apartment building I live in. The question is how does one sent up sendmail for just a LAN. Right now the users can only send mail locally to each machine. If you attempt to send to another machine, sendmail returns a complaint that it couldn't bind to a nameserver. About 15-20 seconds later another system error is generated to the console: tcp/ident failed (looping). After examining sendmail.cf (not to mention getting a headache!!!) I am still stumped. Anyone suggest where to find more info on this, or a solution? Reply by mail. Thanx!
