While Orchid's S3 card is just an OEM of an S3 product, Diamond developed their's independently. I believe that Diamond may be willing to disclose their technical reference if a non-disclosure is signed. The X386E project is not going to sign a non-disclosure. If you have bought a Diamond product and are mad about this situation, you may try calling Diamond and politely notifying them of your displeasure. Unlike the DOS world, the Un*x community lives and breathes on openness so when something like this comes along it usually bothers people. X386E is currently trying to convince Diamond to change their policy. We hope to do that by showing them that it is in their best interests. -Jim. -- *** *** *** James Tsillas jtsilla@damon.ccs.northeastern.edu *** *** "He is after me.
