I recently decided to upgrade one of my Amigas (read: sell it and buy a
fast and cheap PC clone) and I am kind of wondering what kind of UN*X I
should run on it.

The basic setup will look something like this:
486DX4 100MHz PCI, 8MB RAM, 1GB (Conner) SCSI-II hd, PCI 64-bit graphics
card (mumblemubmle brand) and a PCI SCSI-II controller (mumblemumble brand).

Now, as I see it there are 3 sensible choices: Linux, NetBSD and FreeBSD.

I've got a couple of friends that are trying to convince me that Linux is
the only religion to follow. I've tried the 68K versions of Linux and
NetBSD, and NetBSD definitely gave me the best aftertaste in my mouth.

I have no Idea about what is the difference between NetBSD and FreeBSD.
Until I've got a stable setup, I will most likely be the only user on my
machine. After a while I might start offering News/Email (I'm hoping to
get it by UUCP). I also wan't to use X-Windows for my local display.

Anyone got any good advice on what I should do?
