Date: 28 Feb 1995 04:52:59 GMT Organization: Electrical and Computer Engineering, Corvallis Lines: 19 Message-ID: <3iua7b$79a@engr.orst.edu> NNTP-Posting-Host: mycroft.ece.orst.edu Does anyone have any form of BSD Unix running on a PCI Bus machine using an E-IDE hard disk of greater size than the traditional 528 MB limit? I've been trying unsuccessfully to install either NetBSD 1.0 or FreeBSD 2.0 on my Micron P5-90 with Phoenix BIOS (12/21/94) on a Micronics Motherboard with an integrated IDE controller. I've made separate installation attempts using a Conner CFA850A and a Western Digital AC2850. After supposedly installing the kernel and rebooting from the hard disk, the system locks up with a 'read error'. If anyone has a working system of this sort, could you please send me the details on your setup? Thanks, Scott Langley EE Grad Student Oregon State University langles@ece.orst.edu
