Hello,

I don't know if this has been discussed long ago; if that should
be the case, just ignore my posting.

I came across the following bug (I am just giving the symptoms here,
since unfortunately I do not have the time to track it down. Alas, it
should be easy to find):

- Set the permissions of a mount point to 0700, owner root (before
  mounting the fs, of course)

- Mount your filesystem.

- Set the permissions of the mount point (i.e. the top
directory of your fs, this time) to 0755.

- Become a ordinary user

- "cd" to the fs you just mounted and say "ls -la".
Oops, the ".." parent entry is missing; I noticed that
since some utilities were complaining about that.

Thanks for paying attention.

Regards,
-Rodney Volz
