Firstly, there is no documentation on what or how the variables should be set up in the kernel config file. I had to refer to the FreeBSD 1.1 documentation. On boot up, the system recognizes my soundcard ( identifies it as having 1024k ram and the right irq etc.. ) yet I am unable to get it working except outputting a strange oscillating sound. I guess this would mean that the MAKEDEV script in /dev configures it for a different card. Lastly, my mouse stops working when I start X11 ( xdm -nodaemon ), and as soon as I reboot with my old kernel ( without sound support ) the mouse works again. I also have a SoundBlaster 16 which I would like to get working alongside the GUS ( for the digital recording only - I prefere the GUS' midi! ) if anyone has any ideas on how to go about this ( I know it is possible to run 2 soundcards ) I would really appreaciate any help. Before I forget - I'm running FreeBSD 2.0R on a 486dx33 with 20 meg RAM, an aha1542cf, a SB16, GUS, Tseng Labs ET4000wp32.
