Is anyone aware of any problems with the SCSI tape driver on FreeBSD-2.0? I am trying to use Amanda (a free tape backup program available from ftp://ftp.cs.umd.edu/pub/amanda) to backup my FreeBSD 2.0 box. Amanda uses the "dump" command to do the backups. I have configured amanda to use /dev/nrst0 as the tape device, which is my HP JetStore 6000 DAT drive on my Bustek VLB SCSI controller. However, when Amanda runs the dump, I get these errors on my console repeated several times: Feb 28 15:33:38 global kernel: bt0: Try to abort Feb 28 15:38:27 global kernel: sd0(bt0:0:0): soft error (corrected),\ info = 532774 (decimal) And, of course, the dump fails. Does anyone know what these error messages are telling me? -andrew -- Andrew White, Systems Manager, Social Science Computing | SAS Computing EMAIL: awhite@ssc.upenn.edu (MIME OK) | University of Pa.
