Different people, different experiences. > Over last five years I used 320MB, 857MB, 1GB and 2GB SCSI drives from IBM, on RS6000/320 and 950. 320 MB drives seem to be very sensitive to power fluctuations. On two separate incidents they failed (a few at a time) in the moment of a power failure. They would immediatelly start producing a funny clicking noise, as if they would hit something every few seconds. The 857MB drives didn't have this problem, but would slowly die over few years. They would, however, develop a noise prior to failure, so that wasn't that bad. New 1GB and 2GB drives are nothing but pleasure I run 15 2GB drives and 5 1GB drives, and not a single problem in a year. mj
