A bunch of people replied, and pointed me at CAP and netatalk. I'm
in the process of getting CAP to run on NetBSD (a few clever '-Dxxx'
switches, plus a small hack to the if_ed.c ethernet driver). Once
it is all working (things are going well so far), I'll send patches
to the relevant maintainers.

Thanks to those who have written/fixed/extended CAP over the years
(and netatalk, which I may have a stab at as well :-)), and thanks to
the following for pointing me to them:

	"Stanley B. King" <stan@crl.com>
	Jan Riedinger <jan@physik.TU-Berlin.DE>
	John Lucas <jlucas@lazlo.uvi.edu>
	Patrick Rougeau <rougeau@ensta.fr>
	doleh@dijkstra.cba.csuohio.edu (Yaser K. Doleh)
	jhart@raven.cybercom.com (James P. Hart)
	nickel@prz.tu-berlin.de (Juergen Nickelsen)
	randyd@TFS.COM (Randy Daniels)

Expect to see some info about NetBSD & CAP here in a few weeks.
