It handles spikes, surges, and dips quite nicely. It handles power outages for about 10 minutes. Last time the power failed in my Area (ChicagoLand, USA) it was out for four hours. Lets see, a backup generator to provide 250 watts for my computer in that case would cost... ...more than the computer. I'll take the safe filesystem. If I was in the middle of spooling news at that time and my news filesystem wasn't "safe" I would have been hosed. I have a question. The FreeBSD 2.0 filesystem seems to be as fast if not slightly faster then then Linux filesystem on the same machine. What changes were made in FreeBSD 2.0 to accomplish this?
