You set up a name server(s) in /etc/resolv.conf see man resolver if you dont have access to a local one then use one of the main ones on the net backbone. Then you set up the order of resolving in /etc/hosts as: bind #name server /etc/hosts #next try the local hosts file nis #then Network information services works for me now if you can tell me how to setup sendmail were even !! Hell if you can tell me how to setup sendmail your are a genius !!
