We get along in this environment because people follow the conventions.
Whether or not you personally agree with the conventions, you are better off
following them than risking the negative peer pressure that will result if you
post to a lot of newsgroups. It does not matter what you or I think; what
matters is what the majority of the news group readers think. I believe that
(for example) most of the readers of comp.arch will not appreciate having this
posted to their board. There are other boards for this kind of thing. This is
all part of getting along with real people in the real world.
