I run a news server here on a DECstation ULTRIX box. Unfortunatly ULTRIX can't mount a local disk more that 1 gig. I thought of using SCO but am told there is a toy limit on the number of inodes of 65000 at the moment. This won't be fixed until the next full reslease of a version. Can BSDI handle the new 9 gig disks in a reasonable way? I'd like to mount most of it as a single partition and not have to worry about toy inode or file space limits. Is there any kind of logical disk system in BASI that can build a logical disk from a number of physical drives? I'm really tired of symlinks. How easy is it to put the usual good stuff up on BSDI, i.e. INN, sendmail, BIND, Gopher Web servers, etc.? I'd really like to have a chat about this from real users and not sales droids. Thanks much. Any help appreciated. ============================================================================ Chris Johnson Internet: johnson@chaos.dac.neu.edu Assistant Director, Systems BITNET: johnson@nuhub Division of Academic Computing Voice: 617.373.3300 Northeastern University, 39RI FAX: 617.373.8600 360 Huntington, Ave. Boston, MA., U.S.A. 02115 ============================================================================
