My 5000 has four feeds and runs around 40 to 50 clients at any one time during the day. That number will grow. I might also like to put TIS' FWTK on it and do a little security for the box. Everyone I've received resposes from says INN will compile and run easily on BSDI. I'm also told that TIS runs a slightly modified BSDI on their Gauntlet system with an enhanced FWTK on top. So everything seems to work. Another question. Is a Pentium 100mHz with 32 bit E-Link III and two or three Adaptec 17xx series EISA fast SCSI II controllers and 128MB of RAM running BSDI and INN, FWTK, and maybe a little Gopher on the side, going to be able to handle the load? The 5000 does at the moment. It's just old technology and there is no more development for ULTRIX and I don't want to spend more money on old technology. I'd like to upgrade and I thought the above configuration might handle it. Will it? Thanks much. ============================================================================ Chris Johnson Internet: johnson@chaos.dac.neu.edu Assistant Director, Systems BITNET: johnson@nuhub Division of Academic Computing Voice: 617.373.3300 Northeastern University, 39RI FAX: 617.373.8600 360 Huntington, Ave. Boston, MA., U.S.A. 02115 ============================================================================
