In other words, if the card is at 204.140.136.18, then "ifconfig de0 inet 204.140.136.22 alia"' will not work. Instead, it will give the message: "ifconfig: ioctl (SIOCAIFADDR): File exists". Now, an ifconfig using 198.147.73.70 will work. Can I use the alias option on the same class C network ?
