Is it fairly straight forward in it's installation? : Are thier any obvious pitfalls or maybe even un -obvious problems to look for. I am installing to a i486-66 : w/ 8mb ram and 540 mb hd. Mitsumi 2X cdrom and SB16 sound card. I would also like to dual boot since : my spouse likes her Windows games. : Thanks fom a newbie! I thought it was very easy. There are a couple things to keep in mind. I am not sure that FreeBSD can handle EIDE, which may or may not be an issue with your machine. The other thing is that you need to do is hit alt-f1 or f4 (it's in the faq) after starting install of X windows. When finished, you need to do it again to switch back. In general how difficult the installation is will depend on how comfortable you are with disk partitioning. After you partition your drive, you will need to setup the file systems, but the instructions (readme.install maybe) tell you how to do it. The best advice is to peruse the cd a little and print faq's, readme's, and anything that could be useful information. Good luck Mike Barley
