Date: 14 May 1995 21:00:09 GMT Organization: University of Washington, Seattle Lines: 21 Message-ID: <3p5r0p$dib@nntp5.u.washington.edu> NNTP-Posting-Host: nntp5.u.washington.edu dear all, i was just wondering if there is a working sudo program for netbsd that is similar to the one described in nemeth, snyder and seebass's sys admin handbook. i found one on ftp.colorado.edu (or something like that) called cu-sudo, but it wouldn't compile on my netbsd system do to some errors that i forgot to record and have sinced erased the sources anyway. has anyone gotten this sudo to work or know of another one that works? what i'm really trying to do is allow my roommate to be able to run kermit and access /dev/tty03 without having full root access and potentially screw up my system. is there a way to do this to allow my roommate to dial into the campus network and do e-mail and such without me having to su to root all the time and run kermit? i'm trying to write a script for this but don't know how to bypass the su to root and still access /dev/tty03. is sudo the answer to this? is there a better way? any suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated. -- -m
