Well, XFree86 seems to be going fine except for the following: The numbers in the config file for the resolution and frequency I want work, but there is a periodic interference-like line pattern that slightly distorts the image. I've been told that I need a set of numbers that match my monitor correctly. I'd twaek them myself if I knew what they meant. My monitor is a sony multiscan 20 se. At 1280 X 1024 it does 74hz x 78.9khz (I think - I'm at home now - the numbers are at work). I'd be eternally grateful if someone could either: a) point me to a document that describes the numbers so that I can play - or b) point me to a set of numbers that work nicely with that monitor BTW - I'm using a Mach 64 4-meg card with the update-1 server for that card. Thanks so much. Murray W. Goldberg goldberg@cs.ubc.ca
