There was a recent posting for an "ie_driver" based on this chip. It should work, or it should be not too difficult to modify it. Nope. The LANCE is an AMD part. The 82586 is an Intel part. The LANCE is actually fairly easy to interface to, and DEC uses shared memory, so you don't have to deal with bus mastering like on most LANCE-based boards, e.g. ni6510 and NTI. -russ <nelson@crynwr.com> I'm proud to be a humble Quaker!
