Thanks to everyone who offered help in getting the FreeBSD 2.0 CD PPP
client running. I am finally able to get it running, but have one final
puzzle.

The PPP.faq lists three steps to connect:
   1. Dial to remote host using kermit ...
   2. Exit kermit (without hanginh up the line)
   3. Enter the pppd command [deleted here to save space]

Using the kermit.dial script from PPP.faq, kermit violates step 2
above and *always* hangs up the line.

I have tried to find kermit options to prevent this, but everything I
find says kermit always closes the device when it quits/exits/etc.

I have also tried various modem configs to keep modem lines from
causing the hang up (e.g. AT&C0D0)

I know this is a kermit question, but since the FreeBSD faq suggests
this usage, I hope this question is not too far afield.

Thanks in advance, I'll post my results when ultimately successful :-)
