I did. When I logged in to my personal account - not root - everything appeared OK until I tried to edit login with vi. vi would not start up! "log db ..." was the symptom. Also, when I tried to su, I was informed by the system that I was not part of an authorized group to even attempt su. What is going on and how can I correct it? Matt Noah noah@rain.org
