Primarily I am interested in the portability issues in that BSD 'isms are inherently non-portable across platforms. If anyone can help with either a list of BSD-specifics, that would help. If anyone can help with a list of BSD-specifics and a suggestion on more portable alternatives to these commands which are not BSD-oriented, I would be filled with joy as my deadline is rapidly approaching.
