Hi All -

I am having a slight problem setting up a "dumb" terminal
on a serial port with FreeBSD 2.0.

I know that I have the hardware right - When I try a
kermit to the machine (a vt320), I can type in the window
and see the characters appear on the vt (and vice versa).
So, I know that the connection is there....

The problem lies in when I try to get a login shell on the
vt...

I have tried to run "/usr/libexec/getty XXX YYY",
where XXX has been : std.9600, vt100, and various custom
                      configurations
where YYY has been : tty01 and cua01

I have tried this with and without clocal on.
I am sure that the devices exist.

Invariably, getty will start running, but NOTHING happens
on the terminal... I type, hit enter, etc... NADA.
I have checked the baud rate - both should be at 9600...

Is there something that I am missing that is obvious?
I have also tried putting it in the /etc/ttys file,
in an attempt to get it started on bootup, to no avail...

Thanks for any help that anyone can offer!
