Done my homework, struggled for days, still need PPP client setup help. I'll
spare you the gory details and stick with the relevant facts:

  1. I've got the FreeBSD 2.0 CD from Walnut Creek.
  2. Internal modem on COM4
  3. Created all scripts as outlined in PPP.faq
  4. Built/installed a modified GENERIC kernel w/ pseudodevice ppp 2
  5. Installed kermit
  6. Verified kermit talks to modem and connects to dial-up systems ok
  7. Doing all work as su on console

Attempt PPP connection as follows:
  1. Kermit establishes connection to provider on /dev/cua03 (the modem on
      COM4)
  2. After connecting and starting PPP server on the remote system,
kermit drops to a shell (maintaining the connection)
  3. From the shell, I run /usr/sbin/pppd /dev/cua03 19200

Nothing seems to happen, but then again I'm not sure what I should see happen.
I've tried to rlogin to some other systems, and I get a message saying that
there is no DNS entry for that host.

I probably need to supply more details for anyone to make any suggestions,
but I won't trash you with all my scripts unless you request them.

Any ideas appreciated.
