Date: 26 May 1995 10:33:18 -0400 Organization: U.S. Army Topographic Engineering Center, Ft. Belvoir, VA Lines: 29 Distribution: na Message-ID: <3q4ore$rq3@tecsun1.tec.army.mil> NNTP-Posting-Host: tec.army.mil Summary: Will FreeBSD work on it? Keywords: You're sick of hearing this question, I know... Well, I looked at the FAQ's and systems lists that I could find. I even called up Acer America to get the motherboard info. (They use their own motherboards, *they're* not in the lists I could find, either. The tech support person claims that the 4090 has a A1GX Acer motherboard, and the 4790 has a V12LC. ????) Obviously I am looking in the wrong place (-; Who's hiding the list I'm looking for? Seriously, has anyone tried to install FreeBSD on Acer platforms? Although I can probably install it at the store, that may be a major endeavour, esp. if we don't end up buying it when and if it doesn't install. The manager at Best Buy seemed a little less than thrilled that I might want to do something like that to one of his computers, but the tech support guys didn't seem phazed. I may have to install it off of floppies, since none of the models we're looking at come normally with SCSI CD-ROMs. Thanks in advance for any help, -Anne Brink anneb@tec.army.mil -- ############################################################################### Anne Brink # U.S. Army Topographic Engineering Center anneb@tec.army.mil # CETEC-TD-SM, Alexandria, VA, 22315-3864 "Character is what you are in the Dark."
