Subject: FReeBSD 2.0 CD Why no install?
Lines: 21

OK if a more helpful FAQ than the ones one the CD exist could
some kind person point me in that direction. I have made the
boot and cpio floppies and gone thru the install procedure
creating all the usr and usr/local etc..... checked to make
sure that the geometry of my drive matches etc. When I proceed
with the install it gets as far as unzipping to the hard drive
and then displays some cryptic errors haphazardly across the
screen... something like:
fd0:recal failed st0 80<invld>cyl-1
fd0c: hard error reading fsbn 2368 of 2368-2374 (st0 44<abnrml, top_head>
st1 1<no_am>st2 0 cyl 53 hd 0 s

then it finishes the install and I remove the disk. reboot and it
either tells me that init died, panic: going nowhere without my init
or it gets as far as F1 . . . FREEBSD Default: F1
What am I doing wrong???
By the way this is on a 486 50 mhz maxtor hd 3.5 and 5.25 flops
no DOS partition.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you in advance.
