Hi folks:

I downloaded the latest snap boot and cpio floppies from WC a couple
days ago, and installed them on both 5-1/4 and 3-1/2 floppies. I was
able to get the boot disk to work fine from the 5-1/4 disk, but the
3-1/2 just hangs on my main machine (which, by the way, already
runs 2.0R just fine). It doesn't even appear to try to read the floppy
(because the head never steps), but the drive is obviously being accessed,
because the access light stays on until a hard reset.

Also, the 2.0R boot disk works fine in 3.5 format.

I tried the very same floppy on my son's machine, and it worked like a
champ. I got all the way through the installation, with only stupid
little cockpit problems (my own fault).

There is very little in common between the two systems, but a run-down
of the equipment on the broken machine is:

	Intel 486DX2/66
Genoa Turbo Express PCI Motherboard w/256K cache, 16M memory
	BusLogic BT946 PCI SCSI Controller.
#9 GXE 64 2 Meg PCI Graphics board
Seagate 31200 1 Gig SCSI disk drive
	Archive Viper 150S Tape drive
	2 Generic multi I/O boards for serial/printer.

I'm puzzled by this one. Anybody got any ideas? Later, I've got another
question that I'll save until I solve this one.

Thanks,
Phil
