We are planning on moving our FreeBSD to a new platform, and in doing
so we would like to upgrade from 1.1.5.1 to one of the more current
releases.

Three questions:
1) Which release would people recommend?

2) How well does FreeBSD run on a Nice little Pentium 90 with PCI bus?

3) Is there an easy way to move the /etc/master.passwd file to the new
system. That is the biggest problem. This machine is used as an
authentication server for a good number of project dialup users. I need
to be able to keep their passwords intact after the upgrade. Any
suggestions?

If you know anything that could help me, could you please email me at
impaler@vampyre.acc.uri.edu as my news access is sporatic at best thanks
to lots of link upgrades in the area.
