 The release notes for BSD/OS ver2.0 from BSDI says the 86C968 chip is 
supported. It would just be a matter of running /usr/X11/bin/Xsetup and 
choosing your card from the list. 

Make sure, 'thought, that you 'setenv TERM ibmpc3' before running Xsetup
or you may not be able to save and exit!
