At the moment, I have two NetBSD machines on the network at rmkhome.com One is NetBSD 0.9 and the other is NetBSD-current. Once I had my shiny new class C network in hand and a dedicated connection, the desire to start networking everything reared it's ugly head. The $125+ price for name brand network cards put me off, and I looked around for other choices. I found two GVC NIC-2003 B network cards at CompUSA for $40 a piece on sale. On both NetBSD 0.9 and NetBSD-current they show up as NE2000 cards and work like a champ. I get peaks of 750k chars per second. When I bought them I was sure they would fail, but it was just build a kernel with ed0, set up /etc/netstart, et al, and have at it. -- Rick Kelly rmk@tencats.rmkhome.com rmk@rmkhome.com rmk@progress.com
